Korte turns a phone into a camera without an app: you scan a QR code in Korte, the phone opens a page, and its video goes straight to your PC over your Wi-Fi. Nothing is recorded on the phone.

Quick checks

Same Wi-Fi. Put the phone on the same Wi-Fi as the PC running Korte. For now phone cameras only work on the same network, so mobile data or a different Wi-Fi won't connect.

No guest Wi-Fi. Many guest networks stop devices from seeing each other. Use the main network, or a router you control.

OBS and Korte open. Keep both open on the PC. Korte needs OBS open to add a phone camera.

Camera allowed. Allow the camera when the phone asks, then press Start camera.

The phone warns that the connection isn't private

Newer versions of Korte (the ones that update themselves) open the camera page at cam.kortelive.com, which has a proper security certificate, so there's no warning. You may still see a one-time warning with an older version of Korte, or when the PC isn't connected to the internet (then the page comes straight from your PC). That's expected: tap Advanced (or Show details), then continue to the page. Either way, the video goes straight from the phone to your PC over your Wi-Fi.

Windows asks about Korte and networks

If Windows asks whether Korte may use your networks, allow it on private networks. Otherwise the phone can't reach the PC.

The phone page says Reconnecting

Reconnecting means the phone lost the PC for a moment, often when the Wi-Fi drops or the screen turns off. Keep the page open, the phone plugged in and the screen on, and it reconnects by itself. If it says Disconnected, press Start camera again.

An old QR code stopped working

If the phone page says “This camera link isn’t valid any more: make a new one in Korte”, the link is old or wrong. A phone camera’s link stops working 7 days after Korte last opened that camera. If the camera is part of one of your shows, it keeps its place (its name, its role and its picture in OBS) and gets a new QR code: scan it with any phone. If it isn’t in any show, Korte removes it, so add the phone again from Korte.
