Director style: pace, wide shots and cutaways
Make the director cut your way: calmer or busier, more or fewer wide shots. Changes apply live within a second.
Open the Style page. Start from a style, then fine-tune.
Main controls
Pace: how long shots are held, from much calmer to much busier. The music still leads: a new soloist or the singer's phrase wins either way.
Wide shots: how often and how long the whole band is shown.
Cutaways during solos: short looks away from the soloist that still show them.
Moments
Get on a new soloist. With the look-ahead, the cut lands where the solo begins.
Stay on the singer during a phrase. Cutaways only between the singer's phrases.
Back to wide after a tune ends, unless the next tune starts.
Cut to a camera someone looks into: a held look of about 1.5 seconds while someone talks. It uses the direction of a look only, never who it is.
The page shows what the style does: cuts per minute, the typical shot, and two minutes as it would cut.
Very short shots read as flashes, so the director avoids them. Only a bad shot may cut sooner.
